Back to Stone

Back to Stone

A Poem by kenny

The weight of solitude,
the lack of gratitude,
the hate raging through my veins,
the cackles driving me insane.
To feel another's caress,
to see her in that dress.
To know that I have it secure,
to never have known the allure.
To have just kept to myself,
and never reached above my shelf.
The place that I am supposed to be,
where I never would have met thee.
Where I could have stayed in ignorance,
to have known then I didn't stand a chance.
To have known all the betrayal,
to never have faked the portrayal.
To have not thought of you,
every day through and through.
To have had a weightless world,
chasing some other girl.
To have kept my thoughts alone,
to have just remained a stone.
To never have moved,
and to let the wind smooth.
To let the lands wash away,
the pain I feel now, every day.
