Out of the Red

Out of the Red

A Poem by kenny

All I ask of you is to be you,
there is nothing more to do.
For you are perfect to me,
something I wish you could see.
While I know I'm not the one you think of,
you are all I see when I look above.
Not that I want to be the man of your past,
But I do want to be your last,
I know my chase is folly,
but for my pain no one should be sorry.
For I am aware the dangers of that land,
and for you alone I will stand.
against anything and everything,
to me you may cling.
I happily hold you up along the way,
I hope you see that some day.
The fact that I have never left your side,
and from you my heart I cannot hide,
are things I prey you see,
I don't even ask that you love me.
