A knights suppositionA Poem by kennysojourn of a soldier part II
the maiden no longer waits in her tower,
the clock has finally passed that hour. But our young knight still rides alone, with his weary heart of bone. Our beautiful young lass escaped her plight, but in doing so left our knight. whisked away by yet another man, foiling the knights simple plan. whisked away, beauty and all, for a better man she did fall. With what little hope left to be clung to, there is nothing our poor knight can do. The new man does not hide her beauty, and as a lover does not fail his duty. But the knight has chosen his fate, and so he continues to wait. even though, deep down he knows, she can never love him. © 2010 kenny |
