If We Walked AwayA Poem by kenny
Where are the rows of well drilled heroes?
Where are the men who stand ready in the dark? Where they've gone no one knows. Leaving us an empty bulwark. And as the threat of danger grows, and our future stands stark, The proud have been pushed away, our blood will spill this day. "We didn't trust them in the years before, this surely proves us right." "They only sat around and lusted for the w***e, They would lend us no might." "Now we must gather the poor, it should be they who fight." The strong have been pushed away, our blood will spill this day. Here stand the precious few, Each either too old or too young. No one willing to die for you. So why when they retreated, were you stung? it was quite amazing, the speed at which they flew. The only thing left in the city, is the silence hung. The brave have been pushed away, our blood will spill this day. Now come the killers, Those who fight for gold, The bloodspillers, With hearts beating cold. Knocking down the pillars, raping the young and destroying the old. The good men have been pushed away, our blood will spill this day. And thus now I hope you see, the value of those that keep you free. © 2010 kenny |
