Dysfunctional

Dysfunctional

A Poem by Kennedie

I never wanted to hurt you...
I swear
I know you didn't want to hurt me
But some how we ended up hurting each other
With the lies
the screaming
the hitting
And through it all I still loved you
And you still loved me
They told us that this isn't love
That love doesn't hurt
But it is
And it does...

This was great, as I do believe love hurts. I don't think a man or woman should beat on the other, but that does happen a lot more then we even hear about. I wonder what is going through their minds when the love of their life goes off the handle and starts to hit them? Why do they stay? I know it is because they say they love them, but could be more they don't want to be alone and they are scared to leave that person?
Sorry sometimes I just keep talking lol, my mom use to be in an abusive relationship before she died. I was so proud of her for calling the police on him and sending him to jail, then he got out and of course he changed he changed, and she let him back in her life and her house. It was so sad to see my mom being hit on and there was nothing much we could do. I would go and run him out of her house but he would be right back there.
Just thinking of what would go through someone's life at this time.
