Ere of Chaos

Ere of Chaos

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

Immured a starless keep… still and unversed

blank abyss… black--as only black inhered

before the proemial dam burst… before

the unthinking nought and nil conceived

of Chaos--of everything all at once…

breathing life into the wordlessness

of nothing… I dreamt of a quiescent Saule…

a blue-sky blonde writhing atop my eeyorish night-tide…

all those divine things only I could ideate…

smoked bacon, sous vide eggs and gruyere… Kopi Luwak…

a twelve-letter answer to the Sunday crosswords….

How much I’d enjoy leisurely light after

Monday… Tuesday… Wednesday… Thursday… Friday…

the gruelling hustle of a week’s intelligent design.

Great imagery. You bring this to life.

Delightful play on words in the final line. Delightful poem to read in total, though, too.
