In the Wake of Gods

In the Wake of Gods

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

True inspiration, I sense, almost feel, cannot

be bottled like the wind or spun

as if everyday run-of-the-mill cloth --

imagination requires a quick and

steady mind to keep the twisting fibers

roving about the spindle -- free

of the hallucinatory entanglements

of unballasted apprehensions.

Poetry, if often confused, conflated

with ethereal elements, cannot flourish

for long once the Sonneteer drifts

off lucidity into the ambiguous

shoals of a cracked reality. Our craft

was never meant to navigate the wake of Gods.

Can’t navigate, must allow ourselves to be carried.

Are you saying either inspiration is because you research what interests you. Or it is like a good fart. Either way I really enjoyed this well written piece and I was joking about the fart.

Now that is certainly very true and real.
I agree wholeheartedly. Best I can say according to your rule of thumb, 'Our craft was never meant to navigate the wake of Gods'
