Three Haiku

Three Haiku

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

A light rain washes
memories from the cracked steps,
a ghost departing.

Her lilac blossoms
warbling in the wind a last
good riddance take me

from my kitchen pane
to Hell’s gate, love’s denouement
drowning in gin’s din.

I like how you combined all three into one,
I wish I had mastered the haiku,
like you clearly have.

Gin din is just one of the many lines in this series of haiku that I really enjoy.

Really felt that longing when you wrote "take me from my kitchen pane to Hell's gate" - that desire to hold onto something that's slipping away. And the reference to a failed romance with "love's denouement" was so relatable, especially with the drinking to numb the pain.
