When I Left

When I Left

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

When I left I

was never coming back

the smouldering husk of a love

raining embers

goodbye.

A decade whisked

from memory

the bitter chalk taste

of too many I love yous.

What we crave most, chisel

marble into

monuments--

regrets to own

lost loves hard goodbyes.

This is interesting in that the first stanza suggests a change of heart will occur but we find in stanza two that never occurred due some reason most likely not good enough to overcome the regret it produces.
We are channeling again. Mine of today (choices) touches a similar topic.

Wow, that is putting in bluntly and loudly. This says a lot in a short statement getting it's point across whether you like it or not. Nice one Ken.
