Curaçao, Rhythms

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

A day hardly begun

begins

before I am even aware of its beginning

gruff chuffs scuttling

cetacean dawn

                            hauling

                                           life

skiffs into surf

fickle embrace

later a day done

and gone

I watch them returning

song of the catch

                                riding

                                            waves

of sea off sea.

Oh I see now, your poem is the waves. The structure of it is like a wave coming in with awakening and another coming in to cover you with sleep.
of sea off sea is both, alliteration and assonance echoing the same extremely clever thing in the first stanza.
I love that. I will be tempted tom steal the use of the dual device
