Vexatious Mumblings

"O' how long can we avoid the hard lash of revising?"

Nowhere are we

more misunderstood

than in our own bed

tossing turning

over another night's

vexatious mumblings.

I could garrote

the pillow, draw

and quarter the duvet

but then I'd be

the only one suffering,

head and a*s

left hanging

in the breeze

until morning.

I love the whole poem. It's relatable and poignantly funny.

there is never any such thing as way off. written to leave room for wiggling. dreams is one way. here's one more..be married to someone who wants the window open regardless of how low the temperature sinks, and doesnt like the ac no matter how high the humidity creeps

Well, I grasp the logistics. I cannot imagine the emotional non-compromise, though. I fear that acquiescence is not my forte, though in relationships I try to make it worth his while to try to tame the beast.
It is kind of cute to imaginer you sleeping with your bare a*s out though lol

A 20 year relationship is a wonderful thing, in and of itself. I hope I was not rude. I never meant to intimate that you do not compromise. The problem with being semi feral and self raised is that you make a lot of social mistakes because the rules are hard to grasp.

Perhaps a nice cup of chamomile and lavender tea might be in order? Something soothing for the nerves? But the revision I completely understand although I usually read and proofread and write and rewrite all at the same time. But sometimes they still get sent back to the proverbial drawing board.

As someone who has difficulty sleeping almost every night this really spoke to me. Whenever I find myself asking "Why am I so damn grumpy?" I need only think back to my nights rest. I've choked my darn pillow more than I've ever choked my own chicken. LOL. A fun little read Ken.
