An Attempted Apology

An Attempted Apology

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

I arrived late having gone
left instead of
right: my sense of direction
impaired. I said,
"I'm sorry. You
see I'm being pulled
too much, too soon
to speak to our predicament,
the living arrangement
of a heart. Two hearts
indeed.

I think
I need
another pint
to loosen up the senses.

It really is like this sometimes. A lot. Cheers to getting the right way next time, good sir.

To partake, or not partake of a little Dutch courage. That is the question!
The second question is finding the balance between not too little and not too much. 😊
Funny how it affects direction, yet it always gets us home, without the knowledge of remembering how it done so 😊

I do understand the below lines.
"I think
I need
another pint
to loosen up the senses."
like the old song, give me a whiskey and a cold beer. I may know the truth from a lie. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are welcome, Ken.
Sounds as though a little hesitancy is affecting things like direction. Perhaps the speaker is somewhat alarmed at the serious feelings that are being aroused. No big deal, though. A man can make excuses for being late. When a woman says she's late, though, that's a whole different ball game.

the City is not a Reprieve... Seaweed and Seagulls with

Oh yes, the thoughts lurking before a break up occurs. You get to that point and you just have to back off. Scared to continue. Decisions, decisions :)

Ha, funny how names can be forgotten while other bits remain prominent in the memory :)
