I dealt with many of whom I thought were old habits...but those habits hid...and some of those nuns were actually super young....because they were still alive long after I graduated college the second time.
But I do love Peter, Paul and Mary...something my dad and I had in common...he saw them in concert and always played their CD's...
Nice memories here for me of my dad...not all so nice of the sisters...

By the way, go read my Who Do You Read, if you haven't already, think you might like it with a glass of wine
I bought albums by Peter Paul and Mary , the Old habits do die hard , but I still play their music
Mind you , Ken , your poem might be a name Coincidence poem , Hard Tacked sisters , they were something hard to chew on , I don’t know who Peres was or is , maybe a Saint , from a Mexican area
Anyway apart from thoughts on your poem , it was a Great read

Peres french for fathers, priests. glad you enjoyed
"We've got new names and faces this time around. Gospel changes are still going down." John Denver
I'm so glad I was spared the rod of parochial schooling. It might have ruined my faith in education as well as my education in the faith. A very good professor friend of mine, Dr. Ballard often chided my oldest brother when he'd evangelize that he ought to learn how to relax a bit and live the faith rather than simply quote it chapter and verse. He said, "You're apt to make a great many more converts by that method." Dr. Ballard passed away about eight years ago from throat cancer even though he'd never smoked. I remember him telling me, "We never know what indignities we might have to suffer in this life but we can try to face each of them the same as a honor. Try to remember, son, that most of it is only vanity, anyway." He was one of the most remarkable men I have ever known. I enjoyed your poem.

Peres I think must be Shimon? The Church has a sordid history for sure.

no Peres is french for fathers, play on the catholic priests that were part of my education. While .. read moreno Peres is french for fathers, play on the catholic priests that were part of my education. While there are horror stories, I can honestly say all the many nuns and priests (primarily Jesuits) who were on the faculty of my schools were an excellent balance to most of the secular nits I remember.
