A Poem for Muse

A Poem for Muse

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

The year we discovered the truth about
rain: when mood and nature condensed senses
into a vegetative symbiosis
of primordial urges, love's sweetest prout

our own secret coding of a summer
unfettered, free falling through flawless clouds,
a sun drenched meadow, honeysuckle'd roses
twined into Guanyin's dainty crown. You were

Meru's peak, the last pyatthat I was meant
to scale before Nirvana swung open
the doors to my awakened heart: ming-jian
transformed, the road from which I at last wente.

Author's Note

Ken e Bujold
A little help for some of the language: Guanyin is the Chinese goddess of mercy and love. Meru is a mythical Buddhist mountain. Pyatthat are the tiered roofs on a Chinese pagoda.
Ming-jian is Chinese mythology of earth bound. Wente is an old germanic word referring to a crossroads.

thank you very much Kim. glad you enjoyed
An amazing work, Ken. It was very much like reading some of Pound's cantos. The only word that threw me off is prout - I could find no definition for it. Meru, I discovered, is a real mountain deemed unclimbable in certain routes. Thanks for showing us how it should be done.

Oddly, I did find that definition but couldn't believe that's what you meant. My bad.

Oh gosh Ken, what a wonderful poem of yours to stumble upon right after sending you a separate message regarding your comments on another poets work.
I am delighted that you explained the language you used as it made your poem all the more interesting.
I just love the word wente...
Such an exciting mixture of Chinese words...and ending with a germanic word...
I particularly loved the last 4 lines... so full of love..
Interesting for a poem...
You might like my poem Innocence... full of metaphors...all unplanned...just came out of me.
