The Geography of Love

The Geography of Love

A Poem by Ken e Bujold
"

"another little gem, from long ago, that deserves its moment in the sun"

"

Wished I'd known how

to decipher midnight

silence--

write through sorrow

and centuries

emptiness of light--

to read the unfamiliar
tongue clicking
of a clock--

might not have been
so painful then--

walking home at dawn.

We walk alone. Steps ticking in time with our thoughts. Decipher silence is some excellent stuff! You dated it 2022 but say it's an old gem?

Damn straight!!
It is amazing what we imagine as causation when the razor is most apt. Silence is simply not speaking, not not speaking to you. Self-absorption leads to a stain shaped like regret.

Well, Ken ..back to reading yet another one of yours...
I definitely relate to this timeless poem.
Could be oh so many things... A romance gone wrong..a one night stand, etc.
But whatever it was this little gem stands out.
I really did so enjoy the read...Our days were light until quite late and then last week darkness started showing its face earlier and earlier... Now 7:10 and just beginning to be darkish...
