The Little Man

The Little Man

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

Stayed home. Kept quiet.
Muted in his tely vision
stewing, surfing
a winter's discontent--
the iniquity of modernity

simply too much
for his old testament mind.

Good morning Ken,
Boredom is such a terrible thing ... not to find some creative thing to do ... so so sad...
No matter what age and no matter if this is about a man or a women.
Stepping outside of the box and looking at life as an on going adventure is the only way to keep from being bored.
Even just a walk gives one endorphins..
My father died at 96 and was still so sharp and busy all day...everyday...my mother was the same...
Lisa, all organised fo a busy day...and i am 74 years old...

You are so hysterical...Love it!!
You paint a picture of boredom here. I know men like this, cocooned in their own homes not venturing out or socialising. Fortunately for me I don't have that problem in my own home. A little piece of brevity which says much about living in challenging times.

Actually, I can somewhat identify with the titular little man. The turmoil this modern world is going through, the pandemic, the political polarization, the climate crisis, the Ukraine war, etc., have caused me to hunker down somewhat. No way I would travel internationally. Prefer boredom to battle.

Ah John, we all have a wee bit of the Little Man in us.
Lol...I know so many who are just like that. Hard for them to get out of their own way and realize that we are so lucky to have been alive in the first place. Great work!

don't we all crowley.
Perhaps in his winter of discontent he focused on the wrong son, this son of York would have delivered glorious summer.
So much said with few words, Ken. You could have been describing my own father.
