Nine-Eleven

Nine-Eleven

A Poem by Kena
"

A short poem of 9/11.

"
The terrorists struck the giant towers
In one of America's darkest hours.
Many lives lost, the country through...
Lucky me, lucky you.

A million died slow, painful deaths,
Taking in last precious breaths,
Though many tried to save us all,
A lot of people began to fall.

The day's remembered everywhere
By people filling with despair.
It's something we cannot forget,
Saved by an amazing vet.

I am grateful to the heroes, and always have been;
They saved me from being a street-set orphan.
And to this day, I still see tears
Fill eyes of saddened people here.

The flag still flies, and it isn't odd
With this whole nation under God.

Remembering 9/11 today and this poem makes my memories of that fateful day ever so vivid...almost as if I were watching the news right now, as it happens in real time. A very powerful and moving poem. I enjoyed it immensely.

this is absolutely heartfelt and real and vivid, and speaks the heart and sadness, truly sentimental that the reader can't help but feel touched.
you did an amazing job, keep it up.

Either way I'd be sad. But he's doing his country proud, so it's okay. :)

That's okay, I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to. I cried myself to sleep last night because of my brother. I talked to him today, and his graduation went well. He'll be sent to Afghanistan in a few days.

What can I say? I've gone from stories to songs. But I guess songs are stories, too. I love God and music, in that order. God has given me so much, it's overwhelming. I complain a lot, but I think.. more..
