Did You Win?A Poem by KenaProbably one of my favorite songs that I've written. I have a lot of my own that are tied for favorites.V1. I had the best dream ever last night And you were there, and you were there, and I was there
We were all so happy this time And finally, finally, my fight was fair
Bridge: I finally made you smile like the old days, and you played along well
I had the time of my life, and then I had to wake up
Was it really necessary for you to leave me again? Was it really the best decision to play a "reasonable" game?
Chorus: Did your cards win you what you were after? Did you care that you caused a disaster? Do you still love what you loved when you left me here? Or do you understand heartbreak
V1. I had the craziest thought the other day, and then you came, and then you left, and I still stayed
It was all just a game that we played, and now I realize how much I need to pray
Bridge: I finally understand what you were up to, and you played along well
I had the tears streaming down my face, and then I had another thought
Was it really necessary for you to hurt me again? Was it really the best choice to make me "stronger" than I was then?
(Back to chorus)
Bridge: I don't care for your lying You don't care that I was dying I'm fine now, but I'm still crying This frustration is like hot bread, it keeps rising
