Spring begins in April

Spring begins in April

A Poem by Ken Simm.

Spring begins in April.

We praise the new science of Smell

The smell of the sea, of rot and disintegration,

Of paper, of books,

Of buds bursting, the smell of woodsmoke.

The artist prepares to reprise the age-old preoccupation with sight.

The bird lays bright blue offspring, matching the sky.

Vegetation spreads symmetrical roots,

One white and blind, one green and sweet.

Very interesting look at spring!
All the new smells of spring that so many ignore.
I like the vegetation spreads symmetrical roots,
one white and blind, one green and sweet.
Good job.

A poem about a season how it is perceived by an artist... this poem vividly describes the advent of spreading life joy and awakening.. that contributed to artist's activity giving him inspiration.. beautiful words..
