Ocean viewA Poem by Kell-BellThis is the first poem I'm posting to this website, and I hope everyone enjoys it. This poem is about a man and his love for the ocean, and the the tragedy that occurs because of that love.Ever since I was young, The ocean has lulled me. I have found myself drawn to it. Day after day, night after night, I returned to enjoy its beauty. There was always...something. Maybe it was the way the moon danced among the waves. Or maybe it was how thes sun warmed the tide, like an ever-calming blanket. That is why I haunt these waters. ‘It will be harmless”, my stepson said. “It won’t take too long to catch a fish.” My stepdaughter remarked. “Besides, you love the ocean, don’t you?” My wife remarked. They all rushed to push me overboard, To send me to a watery grave. And in my last moments, I saw them laughing with joy. I had loved them as I had the sea, and yet, Here I lay, soon to become a corpse. I shall haunt them! Make them scream with madness and fear, Make them beg for my mercy! As I drag them to my ocean, This very one I now curse! © 2020 Kell-BellFeatured Review
