Person

There's always that one person,
the one always by your side,
the one who stays with you,
even if your wings are broken,
and you can't fly.

There's always that one person,
the one who stays by your side,
the one who stays with you,
even if you are broken,
and wanting to die.

There's always that one person,
the one who stays by your side,
the one who stays with you,
through dark and through light,
through day or through night.

I just have one question I want to ask,
who is that one person,
and where is that person now,
when I need them the most,
and I've lost all hope.

I'm not the best at writing poems, and I suppose nobody is perfect when it comes to anything, but I'm trying to get better. :)

Poem's are about feeling and truth. I like your Poem Titled Person. We have all felt that way at points in our lives, your poem is full of feeling and truth, so you might be a bit better at this than you think. I hope to see the second act to this poem when you find that one Person. I liked this one and it made me want to read the second half. lol good luck to you in your writing.

This poem is absolutely beautiful. I know I've felt these moments, wondering who was there to be with me, to have my back. You perfectly encapsulated that feeling with this poem, so much so I had to text my best friend after to make sure they were ok. That is powerful writing. Great work :)

This poem has a balanced & honest path to a logical (but unexpected) conclusion. I feel you've shown the promise of that one true love, but in the end, a feeling of hopelessness prevails. One thing about life, even that one true friend might be buried by tough stuff & that's why he/she isn't around when needed. The kind of friendship you're describing takes years to develop. The narrator might already know this person but not realize it. There are many directions to take this idea -- a thought-provoking read!
