I NOTICED

I noticed you gazing back at me,
and I wondered, what did you see?
for the look of amazement on your face,
was quickly shadowed and replaced.
Did I remind you of love long gone?
or just simply you were seeing wrong?
Was it me?
that you did see?
Or did the past,
come flashing back?
Did you even know I was standing there?
Or maybe it's nothing to be aware.
Why do I even have a care?
Why should I notice you at all?
You were just standing against a wall,
Might have only been the lights,
that made me catch you in my sight.
Was it you?
coming into view?
Did you pass here?
Was it a mirror?
That I saw from the corner of my eye,
might have been a shadow past me by.
Could it be that I was only dreaming?
While you were only standing, leaning?
and maybe I came awake to late to see,
that you weren't even noticing me.
It must be me.

I like the how your lines gave the poem a confused, paranoid feeling, and I thought that they added to the theme very well. It gives you that self-conscious feeling. Nice job!
