I REMEMBER THEN

I REMEMBER THEN

A Poem by Kelsmiles

I REMEMBER THEN

Memories, sweet memories.
I'll never forget the times we spent.
Never regret a moment in your life.
I can still see the sunshine in your smile.
Still hear your voice in the wind.
Your laughters in my head.
The strength of your arms holding me tight.
Your kiss on my head as you smoothed my hair.
The light in your eyes when we danced.
I'll never forget..
The night we met..
So many years ago.
In that lounge on the edge of town.
You were a bouncer for your brother then.
You were a giant of a man,
Muscle bound at six foot 4.
I came in, You said, "Hi, How ya been?'
I remember I stayed close to the door,
where you were..
Hoping, praying we'd talk some more..
I fell in love with you that night.
We went to breakfast when your job was done,
and you brought me home on your Gold Wings bike.
You even asked me out again!
Made my lonely heart sing!
I remember then..
The very next day
A ride far away..
The wind in my hair,
The times we shared.
I remember then...
I'm grateful for every one of them.
Like the time..I saw you playing pool.
I left a friend to go with you!
I would have followed you anywhere...
You were my guiding light..
My Teddy Bear..
I loved you then, I love you now.
Even though your time ran out..
So long ago...
But I remember then..
And time flies by..
Only your spirit thrives.
I can feel you watching over me
As I fight to survive.
And even though my life goes on,
with lost loves i find
A new love begins
And I wanted you to know..
I still remember then..
And no matter where my heart leads me
You'll always be..
My Teddy Bear.
