Temporary Paradise

Temporary Paradise

A Poem by Kelsey

Broken and listless,
I watch the waves of the ocean,
Crashing upon the golden edge of the beach.
Sunlight streams upon the earth,
Casting a golden glow on whatever it touches.
Breathing in, the salt feels my airways.
Closing my eyes,
I picture a vast paradise,
I, in the center, taking in all the beauty,
Running through trees, feeling the rush.
Listening, I hear the soft chirping,
The chirping of exotic birds no eye has seen.
The cool air, blowing softly against my skin,
Chilling me, but soothing at the same time.
Oh, how I could spend hours here..
Upon opening my eyes,
My golden shore is gone.
Darkness floods the scene,
A brilliant moon, casting an eery glow.
Slowly getting to my feet,
sand falling from my body,
I realize one thing.
My paradise can only be temporary.

Shades of Favoro, my island and bliss
lives. After the rain and the moon
comes out, rhapsody returns and lives.

Guess it is obvious that I love your poem.
I will return to read again and again.
Thank you
----- John
