An Ode to the World's Ex Boyfriends

An Ode to the World's Ex Boyfriends

A Poem by Keli Renee

I'd rather die than be with you
He who made my skies cold blue.
He who made me insecure
He who made this pain too pure.

I'd rather choke than talk to you
He who tore my soul in two.
He who made my heart feel dead
He who slept within my bed.

I'd rather run than be near you
I wouldnt stop, I never do.
I can't believe you were my crutch
He who'd never say as much.

He who always made me cry
Made me believe his every lie.
He who always had to yell
He who made my top lip swell.

I wish with my all that this was a dream
Reality so harsh I'm forced to scream.
I'd rather die than be with you
He who turned my skies cold blue.

This sends a very clear message, and a message I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of. But just viewing it in the Cafe, I like it very much, mostly the rhythm and rhyme, but also in the sense that I can actually feel the pain. Well done.

Sad from a poetic perspective; this could apply to anyone who could have wronged any one of us, by setting our hearts on fire and then leaving them burn by walking away. Even still, we forgive you!

Wonderful piece! Thank you for sharing with all of us.

The piece was very well thought out.I agree absolutely with what you have written. Even I felt the same emotions once. I just want to tell all these men PERIOD.

a clearly defined map to happiness with valleys of unhappiness to avoid .. make your stand of Independence in times forward .. this reads with a truth that you are much more in control and in touch with the power of self .. i like it
