Summer

Summer

A Poem by Kelly Danielle Hall
"

A short poem about how love can change with the seasons.

"
I remember last summer,
we were diving off bridges late at night,
you would kiss me in the water under the moon.
We used to sing our song over and over,
we made each other laugh
until it was hard to breathe.

I remember last fall,
we would sit outside for hours,
just because I loved to watch the colors
as they changed.
You sat with me every minute,
eating vending machine snacks
from the school cafeteria,
just because it was my favorite season
and you craved to hear my voice.

Now it is winter,
and no matter what I do,
I feel as though your soul has become
just as cold as the freezing air.
I keep wishing I could just freeze time
and go back to how we were,
to how we used to be,
back when it was summer.

This piece reminds me of the contrast between someone who has sunshine in their soul all the time and the other is solar powered and needs the sun in the sky to keep their emotions and happiness levels up. A case of winter blues is what it tells me of.

Yet... that's just what I see practicaly.

Flow wise... I like the two first stanzas in their layout and their progressions of imagery and story, yet I couldn't help but feel as if there should have been a transition stanza after 1 and 2 and before 3. Stanza 3 is a good ending and sums things up... but that jump in the story gives the overal piece a bit of a speedbump.

Overall though... your words convey a nice solid story concept that is easy to relate to.

Incredibly impeccable, historic-cum-modern, contemporary, classic, benevolent & tremendously outstanding & very seasonal poetry. Every thing/thought & duplication of heart is artistically pen'd up & nicely overlapped with the train of gone-memories. Liked the heartfelt & quite condense mix. of... "season", "love", & "memories". It's so interesting. Seemed like a love-story -- the story of your life that had much to say...love & squeeze but what all she got in return, as a favor from "summer", the "memories" -- shades of dark. Interesting! Lovely concept you come up with, tag line's gorgeous: "everything goes changed with season". Whao. It's very intriguing poetry but heartfelt, though... emotions burning over the shell of your unbound heart,in memories... of gone days.

Beautiful work, as always. Yes, I do agree, with season, & stupid time, everything goes get changed, no matter what, even the love as well. Keep writing!!

It takes a gentle wind to make two fall in love
and it takes a real man to stand all seasons
and it takes a beautiful soul to say goodbye in such gentle words

You sure know how to do that
