‘You Set Us Free’
Oh The cross At Calvary Where you Gave your Life To set us Free You suffered Gods will The cup did Not Pass You by You knew In time You would Die In sinless Blame You walked In pain They threw Their Shame Upon Your name In silent Suffering No words Worth Muttering You glorified His name In selfless Pain A crown of Thorns Your flesh Was torn They beat you Till you Bled Without One word Being said The blood It poured And Your love Claimed Eternity Upon Her knees Your mothers Pleas Weren’t Heard They laughed And joked While piercing Metals Your breath Choked As if some Great Big joke On bended Knees You took Each stroke Of evil Lashing All for Your Passion To overcome Sin Of flesh And man Your head Did Hang While Heaven Rang Out destiny Your people sang A song of pain Oh what Were they To gain Upon This shame You glorified Your fathers Name Eternal And forever You shall Reign You rose Again And death Has lost It’s sting For you Are Our risen King And our Hearts Shall forever Sing For suffering And shame Has earnt A holy Name Oh death Where Is your Sting.
