In the disillusion
If confusion

Lies

The confusion
Of disillusion

In panic
Away from
Peace

The mind
Begins to
Shriek

Unable
Of
Sound
Thoughts
To meet

Again
The minds
Do seek
In material
Possession
Peace to
Keep

But what is this
That you did
Reap

All the years
That have gone
By
Did u ever
Stop and try
To help a
Suffering soul
To reach
That extra
Goal

Did you follow
Plans of
Peace
Giving back
To Mother Nature
Deep

Did you stop
To feed the poor
Or only
Close
That Ferrari’s
Door

Searching for more

Things

And greed
Was that your
Only seed
Off which
Your
Soul
Did feed

What was the need

Of such
Earthly
Greed

Where money
Gave you
Power
But now
In the darkest
Hour
You have lost
Control
As it did not go
As the bank balance
Did show

Did you not know
That Mother Nature
And spirit
Would show

Don’t tell me
You didn’t know
You just pretended
So your pride
And ego
Could grow

Seeds of lust
Without
Any trust

But for you it
Was a must
For
In man
You only trust

But the cycle
Is now corrupt
You feel it
In your gut

Again
Back in the rut
Acting like a nut

Until you
Open your eyes
And see
That it’s not
Up to you or me
You’ll
Forever be
Lost in this
Mystery

Look further
And you’ll
See
What’s written
In history

The bible
Set in stone

Prophecies
Look and see

It’s much
Greater

Last evening I watched an obscure movie about how a group of local moms fought against a chemical plant being placed in their area, which was called "cancer alley" becuz of all the chemical plants already in the area. This led me to thinking about how there's a significant portion of capitalists who think protecting their wealth is more important than protecting lives in this pandemic. Your poem is a stinging rebuke for those who put profits above all else. I'm afraid there will be no reckoning on earth, but reading your poem it's nice to imagine a reckoning, however one visualized it (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
