Oh Lord-
if i knew
what this
was all
about-
maybe then
my heart
wouldn't
be so full
of
doubt-
the endless
ticking of
different
clocks-
unable
to stop
the
racing time-
unanswered
questions
of the
mind-
in searching
what do
we
really find-
a rhetorical
question-
a pantomime-
its all
hidden-
in the
minutes of
time-
emotions
are there-
but do
we dare
scare ourselves
with the
truth-
burying them
behind fake
smiles
and laughter
so sought
after-
the hollowness
inside-
consisting of
selfish pride-
too scared
to face
the truth
of the purity
of our
youth-
humble yourself
and come
around to
the doubt thats
all around-
but return
to the
'self'
that you've
now found-
spinning around
in the
seconds of
the minutes
of this fragment
in time-
and then
i can grasp-
that its
a selfless
task-
that each
must
pass...
Your poem reminds me of when I was younger & I tried to figure out what things were all about. I love the first two verses & how you express this yearn for understanding. Then it feels like the next two verses describe how we might shift from questioning to accepting. At the end, I'm in agreement . . . it's okay to have questions & also not to seek the answers. Sometimes we can just watch how the questioning changes, the more we experience living (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Seems life goes in patches, and when it seems horribly dull-dark, it's hard to find gaps large enough to peep into life and find that wiser, stronger heart and mind inside. But you know full well that good things do/can follow, even though an effort. It's like shedding an old and weighty skin. Your latter words talk of suddenly realising how you've altered.. Goodness knows, it's unbelievably hard to tug yourself out of a mess, to go find hope and comfort. But, as you rightly say, one needs to come to terms with what you've become and adapt happily, somehow, in an untidy world. There's always something.. or perhaps someone, who makes you pause and smile, perhaps laugh!

not only does time pass...it hides answers us from us as well.
and in time we will pass, and most likely leave this earth with many questions.
love this write, Kelly.
