‘Soft And Gentle - I’ll Return’

As the rain
Softly falls
I hear
My heart
It calls-

To return
To the place
Over yonder

Full of grace

Where my thoughts
Wander-

I wonder when

One hour or ten

When

Soft and gentle
I’ll return
To where
I came -
The day
You blessed
With earthly
Tests-
You gave
The spirit
Up to flesh-

Oh how I miss
The misty miles
Away from trials
Upon the clouds
The spirits free

One day
So soft
And gentle
I’ll return-

Bearing
Heartache
And pains
From in the
Gutters
Where they
Have lain-

Having faught
The fight
With all my
Might-

Souls been
Saved
Truths been
Learnt
Lies been
Burnt

Heartache
And pain
Through
Love was
Slain

Never to return
Again-

Oh happy day

Soft and
Tender
We’ll remember-

Soft and gentle
As rain falls
Upon
My
Window pane-

My name it will
Remain-

But I’ll return

To whence
I’ve come

When every
Deed
Is done.

Learnt
Lies been

the language of your poem drifts from schooled to unschooled if i may say it that way ... i relate more the the "un" ...tho i have had schooling i enjoyed my street corner buddies more ... :) i know of whom you speak and asked Jesus Christ to help me out a long time ago ... we do have a course to run ... a purpose ... and God does hold the bottom line of life and death ... nothing can happen unless in the least the Creator allows it ... our troubles mostly fruits of our miss-decisions ;) your poem has pointed me noodle in a good direction this morning..thanks for sharing!
