We search we find - that space in time🌹

‘Sacred Space’

The time we spend inside our minds
The searching thoughts we try to find
Where do these go- do we ever know

These thoughts they twist and they turn
Within sub conscience lie and burn
What is it that the heart must learn

The fears and tears of life so true
Is all a journey left to you
But yet at times it all just seems
To be a part of an unending dream

Through torrents of torment and
Stormy seas- its all achievable
Upon our knees- the inner turmoil
Put to rest when your vision is
Clearer after each test- so lift
Your eyes up to the skies

Where mercy and grace complete
This race- its not about the date
Or place but the pursuing of
A sacred place standing in front
Of heavens gate....

I often feel that I am standing in front of Heavens Gate, something to do with my date of birth!! I love the rhyming content of this piece, something that I always try to find and realise that there are more "free writing poems" so I seldom finish them. Everyone is different I suppose. This is a pleasure to read and it leaves a message for us all. I was in the Royal Navy and then the merchant navy for all my working life so I do know about "Stormy Seas" Take care "Rose" and thank you for sharing. Rod.

Oh I’m glad you enjoyed it- stormy seas are another thing was caught in a 15 ft swell for three days when I worked on cruise ship- not a joke but we survived- Thankyou for your time🌹

I have to admit, I never expected this poem to have a twist at the end. The sentiments were pouring forth gracefully & I was thinking about how many times my mind is wandering & how in my younger days, I would ponder things more diligently, but now I let my thoughts go as they will (maybe this shows in my willy-nilly poetry! *smile*) All this time, the poem felt as if it were going to be a tribute to the way our minds wander as we wander along this journey called life, etc. But then the ending is the most definite part of your message. All this meandering is actually leading somewhere specific! That came as a surprise. I honestly never think about death in this way, but I like how you express a rather typical way of considering death. It’s a graceful ending scene. I think it’s umportant to consider the end pint sometime in our lives to try see where it is all going to and about what is the value of everything we endure- Thankyou for taking time- I appreciate it🌹

a nice surprise to see You in a new style dear Kelly :) but surely even though, again a great message, and wonderful wisdom to rich Your words and us, I believe our thoughts create a place, and maybe all our thoughts negative or positive travel us through the road into that sacred place, a belief many of us can't live without, specially those who suffer in life, or who think that life is unfair toward them, they hang on to that hope... I believe in it too, that there is that sacred place, and I believe too, that we can make that sacred place on earth too, Your first verse and the last which hit me the most, the messages in Your last verse are amazing, I see it as two things, earth being a pursuing of heaven, so in life we must accept our trails strongly with faith, because it's a part of the road heaven, and I see it too, that we can make that divine place, here on earth.
