It’s Done:

Now that
Everything
Is done

The song sung

And every rung
Of the ladder
Overcome

I laugh at
What the
World
Calls fun

The problems
They try to overcome
The failures
Achieved
By more
Than
Some

The time and place
They chase
The sun
Returning
To the
Race
Half run-

I see it’s done

For few
Or
None

But then again
It’s just begun

The circle
Like
An endless dream
Is blinded
By the sight
Unseen

The brain
Is drained
Been played
Been tested

Confused
Neglected
Unprotected

So sad
It’s few
Between
Me
And you

The sights they
See is out
Of view-

Oh
Soul-

If only you knew

That time
It is
A state of
Mind

And left
To test
It’s very best
Been separated
Apart
From
The rest

Where self
Is sure
And danger
Lure

And hearts
Remain
Insecure
And far
From
Pure.

I am not a fan of formatting a poem in a long column with only a couple words per line. It reads in a jaggedy way to me, not in synch with the well-crafted rhythm & rhyme you bring to your poems. I would love to see the lines correspond with the way your rhythm & rhyme are crafted. But that’s just a preference. All in all, you do a great job of rhyming riff, on & on, loosely connected, but brightly conceived with sparks of recognition relating to each reader’s life experience. I like the way your imagery feels like it’s tumbling over & over as it goes along, resembling how life comes at us in a scattershot way (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
