I have a need for silence. It is in those still times I commune with God and find all gears and pistons firering fast. It is fuel for the soul. I think many people always need tv or radio playing because, they fear the silence.

Unfortunately many do listen, but not enough hear.

Very fine, Kelly. In the economy of words there is suspence, delicate focus, and mystery by the suggestion of a shift in speaker (who is speaking, the poet, a loved one or some metaphysical presence). You have achieved great charm and delight in only a few lines. Congratulations.

Well I’ll admit, I swore when I read this. Which is usually a sign of wishing I had come up with it. This really did impress the flip out of me (I’m trying not to swear because of my old neighbours grandchild). You really have got to the core of how powerful words can express what we rarely find the words at the time to understand.
When we strip away all the distractions and opinions, leaving our honesty bare, is what in essence, is our essence.
I love the simplicity of saying to someone, this is me, if only you could see, hear what is in front of you. It is what we all strive for, someone who will understand, not judge, see….yet it is the ultimate intimacy to view this, when our armour is laid down.
Brilliant piece. It says more than most books could.
