Love sets free🌹

The Mermaid In Me:

Oh mercy me
I’m lost at sea
Oh what will
Become
Of
Me -

Oh mercy me

Can’t you see

My hearts floating
Upon
Pure ecstasy

Lost at sea

There’s no lifeboat
For me -

Oh can’t you
Please
Set me
Free-

The pounding
Waves
They rush to
Shore-
But
Oceans wide-

I’m lost in
A back current
Of tide-

Engulfed in marine
Of a heavenly dream-

White horses cap
Each wave of love

Screaming to the
Gulls above

I’m drowning
In each
Undercurrent -

Churning
Burning

Heavens above
The sky so blue -
I wish only
Upon you

Save me
From this sea -
Caress me upon
The shores
Of life-

Removing

All doubt
And strife.

Well crafted imagery with strong rhyme & rhythm, describing in a palpable way how it can feel when we surrender to the tumbling sensations of needing another person. Excellent use of extended metaphor with strong word & phrase choices to carry the "ocean" theme thru-out. Kelly - I too was born and raised down the shore. So use to the pounding
surf, the riplets of water washing across my feet. Walking the sand with the
one you love holding them close enough that feeling the beating of their heart
is not unlike the roar of the sea.
Its' so easy to get lost in the rhythm of the sea, wanting, needing the gentle
caress and being able to withstand the seas' onslaught.
