Lya and Gyle find evidence of others like Lya. What will they be able to learn from them about what they are? re-write point of view is wrong

"
We did not go far into we reached an impenetrable part of the forest. The trees were thick and dark, the shrubs on the ground reaching all the way up to the lowest branches. I attempted to make my way through the shrubs but sharp thorns would pierce and tear my flesh. "Your skin is very weak sister," Gyle said licking a cut on my face. He had not been touched at all, the thorns gliding off his scales without a scratch.
The cut on my chin healed quickly when he licked it so he licked my hand so that I could rub the saliva over my other cuts. "I cannot go through here, we should go another way." Gyle shook his head and said, "There is something that smells interesting ahead."
"How should we go through then?"
"I'll lend you my scales."
"You can't give them all to me, then you will get hurt."
"Cover yourself with some of the moss over there. I'll give you scales to cover your arms and legs."
I pulled moss from the ground as he said, both of us using magic to hold the moss together so that I could secure it around my body with a vine. When I was prepared, Gyle draped himself across my shoulders again and then tapped into the magic bound between us. Our bond was very strong and Gyle tapped into it, gently stretching it. It was a strange sensation and when I closed my eyes I could see our bond. It was like a thick rope and Gyle had frayed the center of it to see the singular strands that held our bond together. Gyle looked bigger here like he was something else but his form was shadowed, I could only hear his voice.
"Take this strand here Lya," he said holding a strand up for me. I reached for it and he said, "Keep holding on to it until we pass through the woods, if you let go you'll lose my scales." I nodded and then took hold of the strand tightly, afraid the strand might slip from my fingers. As soon as I grasped the strand, I felt my legs and arms hardening like water was being sucked from my body. I opened my eyes with a gasp, and looked at my hands.
They were covered in scales but the scales were not smooth like how they were on Gyle. They were bumpy and there were places where the scales piled up together. "I don't think we did it right,' I said running my finger over one of the stacks of scales. "It's alright, it's our first time. If we practice it will look better." I looked at my brother and say that his legs and arms had lost their scales. His skin there was very pink and seemed thin to me. "Will you be alright?" I asked him.
"I'll manage. Just remember to keep focusing on that strand I gave you, and don't let go until we reach the other side of the woods." I nodded and then stepped forward, pushing the thick brush aside. The thorns and branches glazed off my skin as I brushed them aside and it felt like gentle fingernails scratching on my skin. After understanding the way the scales would feel, I moved quickly through the brush. I was jumping, bounding, running through the brush, hoping to move quickly so that I could return my brother's scales to him soon.
After about half a day, we escaped the thick woods and reached a road that had been cut through the forest. I immediately released my hold on the strand, the scales soaking back into my body and passing to Gyle's naked legs. It felt good to have my skin and I felt relieved when Gyle was once again safe.
Gyle jumped from my shoulders onto the road, lowering his nose close to the bare ground. He walked the breadth of the road, picking up scents that had been left by travelers and then returned to where he had started. "What do you smell Gyle?"
"Many, many things," he said with some excitement, "I smell animals that cross the road and there is a stronger scent... something that is like yours. The road is covered with this scent." There were more like me? I felt a rush of excitement flow through me and my brother sensed it. "Should we go there?" he asked. "I wish to," I said, kneeling down next to Gyle on the road. Gyle rested his head on my bent knee and said, "Do you believe we are not brother and sister? Is the magic not proof enough?"
"I know you are my brother Gyle, but I still wish to know why there are differences between us. If we find creatures like me they might be able to tell us why we are different. If they don't know... we should find creatures like you and they might know."
"If it is something you wish to know, then I suppose we should find out.... But remember, no matter what they might say, you are my sister," Gyle replied and then climbed up to my shoulders. Once Gyle was safely sitting on my shoulders, I stood and asked, "Which way is closest to them?" Gyle flicked his tail in the direction and said, "The smell becomes stronger that way, we should find some of them living there." I immediately headed that way, the road leading us north from where we had hatched.
The road led us up and down over many hills, the road always surrounded by the thick forest and the farther we went, the more my excitement grew. They must be just over this hill, just down the road, I would tell myself. When the creatures like me would fail to appear, I would look to the next hill and tell myself, it's that hill, just over that hill is where they are.
And by evening, we finally reached that hill where I could see a gathering of houses made from wood and smoke from fires. "Is that them?" I asked with excitement. "Yes, this is the place," Gyle said, also looking at the place with interest. It was a fairly large congregation of people judging from the amount of houses and just on the edge of the village, a river touched the village and I could see the faint forms of people moving about.
Even from a distance I could tell that they looked like me and my heart soared. There were others like me. I was not alone. And now that I knew that there were creatures like me, I hoped there would also be creatures like Gyle that we could find. I hoped that for him so that he might understand the way I felt at this moment.
"We should hurry there, it is almost dark and we're both tired," Gyle said, curling up tighter against my neck. I agreed and started running down the road. What would these creatures be like? What could they teach us? And maybe they could tell us why Gyle and I were so different! I was ready to find out but I could never have expected what we would learn from meeting them.
