The Feel of RushA Poem by Kelley Quinn
Have you heard the rushing sound,
The cries of hope and felt the ground? Will you take a step into time, To hold my hand, to understand what's mine? The strength of the sun, the warmth of it's heat, Fresh and new, to nature's gentle beat. Can you close your eyes and imagine peace? Silent and pure: Anger deceased. Trust on impulse while you dance alone. Green and blue, discoveries unknown. The despair of life, a constant battle. A thunderstorm's roar, flashes of rattles. Have you ever stood fast in the pits of rain? Have you ever stopped running in the midst of pain? Stand there, embrace, what can never be yours. Encourage the curiosity of one closed door. The dirt, the grass, the petals so new. Beauty, perfection, a world of blue. Electrify the body, surprise the mind. Nature, nature, of the most exceptional kind! Have you never stood with arms outstretched? Will you never try to see past this wreck? There's a circle, and you're trapped inside. A world of nature, awaiting, past these lines. Break it, break it, freedom soon comes. A bird with ready wings, a delightful hum. A whimsical gust of sound and dirt, Let your arms be free of their endless hurt. Have you heard the tender sound, The rays of hope, the soft-soiled ground? Have you discovered a path like this, so new? Oh tell me, tell me, that nature is true.
