See Through My Eyes

See Through My Eyes

A Poem by Kelley Quinn

Inhale.

My senses are clear.

Sharp.

Intense.

Exhale.

The world around me fades.

Dull.

Blurred.

Now breathe.

My vision is like ice.

It cuts through images

like a fresh new blade.

Inhale.

The world becomes my own.

I can feel my muscles:

Strong and lean.

Exhale.

Fog surrounds me but

Fear does not.

I have been waiting for this feeling:

Complete understanding.

Inhale.

I close my eyes but

Not my soul.

Colors envelope me

And take me away.

This is where I am myself.

Beautiful

Perfect

Serene

Exhale.

I like the complete poem. The feeling of being alive is strong in your words. So many statements I like in the poem. A perfect ending to a positive and strong poem. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

this poem is plotted almost like a short story, but with an elegant flow of a poem. Hard to do, but well done.
