![]() InsanityA Poem by Kelley Quinn
Time slows along with all of my thoughts. What
day is it again? What
were you saying? Don’t
worry about me. I’m
just sitting here watching the leaves grow And
the trees lose their lives. Don’t
worry about me. Have
you ever noticed that people pretend all the time? You’re
not listening to me. I
hold a knife, but you ignore it all. You
pretend, just like the rest. I
rip out these stupid memories. I
rip out the hair on top of my head. I
try to set this glass on top of this table, But
you start laughing and you can’t stop. I
join in, just because it is so hilarious. Please
stop laughing. Please
stop choking. Please
keep breathing. I
can fly. Watch
me, watch me fall. I
won’t. Don’t
worry about me. I
can fly. I
can set this world on fire with my eyes. Watch
this, watch them burn. I’ll
set a match to their smiling faces. I’ll
burn them until only ashes smile up at me. Were
you talking? Were
you caring? Let
me be, I want to fall. Did
I burn you? Just
wait, and you’ll see. Soon,
you’ll have scars, Just
like me. Just
like everyone else. Isn’t
it funny how unique it Is
to be the same? Didn’t
I tell you I’d go crazy? I
warned you. I
didn’t mean to. It
wasn’t my fault. I’m
not me. I’m
not normal. I’m
okay. Don’t
worry about me. Now
push me off this cliff and let me fly down. Let
me plunge into the flames of your memories and Destroy
all of them. Don’t
wait up, I’m
still in hell. © 2014 Kelley QuinnReviews
