Not You

Not You

A Poem by Kelley Quinn

Days turn to Nights

Smiles turn to Frowns

Your love turns to Hatred

Where are you?

How could you leave?

Your smile seems fake

Your love seems wasted

One moment

Of laughter

The clock ticks

Tick

Tock

A new person

Inside of you

A new person

I don't recognize

Where are you?

Why did you leave?

I miss what you were

I hate what you are

Don't you realize?

Don't you see?

Just look

And tell me

That you are not

The same person from years back

Not the same person

Not the same smile

You are an alien to me

Where are you?

Are you there?

In that body?

Who is this that I see?

That stands before me now?

That is not you

I love you

Can't you see?

Always angry

Always faking

Always yelling

Please

Won't

You

Listen?

Where are you now?

I'll never know.
