The Journey

The Journey

A Poem by Kellee

the journey starts with a broken heart
one that cannot be mended
because your love for me has ended
i try my hardest to have faith and hope
but this is a day where i cannot cope
when i used to think of me and you
all i saw was a love so true
one that would never ever end
now all you do is hide and pretend
i cry out to God to help me through
i cry out to God to help you too
you say it gets better, but you obviously don't see
the depth of my love and what you truly mean to me
i try, how i try, to put my life back together
but babe, can't you see, i wanted to be with you forever
i vowed to take a stand, to lay it all in God's glorious hands
i've done my best to live each day, to have faith that there would be a way
but my heart hurts too much and i am just too tired
my hope is lost, my faith has expired
i sit here alone, trying to find the light
nothing i can say or do will ever make things right
this life is too much, i cry each night and long for your touch
i cannot do this anymore, a door has closed forever more
the journey ends with me saying goodbye, i did not mean enough so i'm sure you will not cry
i love you now, i loved you then, forever and ever until the bittersweet end
if you choose to remember anything about me, let it be the joy,the passion, and the love that you brought out in me
take care and stay true, in all that you do, and always remember how much i loved you
