Fly

Fly

A Poem by Kellee

As hard as I've tried
to make you love me
It's just not in the cards
I guess it's not meant to be
I feel the void as I try to fill the void
I try to give you my love, it only leaves you feeling annoyed
The dream I once had, fades with each passing day
I've come to realize that I'm being selfish by wanting you to stay
You need to be free, to live the life that you desire
Wanting you to stay with me is like throwing gasoline on the fire
I understand why you love her, even though it hurts me so
This is something I have to learn to live with, and I have to let you go
I can't make you love me, if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Give me a moment to say goodbye
Then you can spread your wings as you learn to fly
