Blue Marble

A reflection on our world, our unnecessary division and the illusion or hope of peace

I saw a blue marble sitting on a purple blanket
I remember thinking "I'm down there somewhere"
You see?  From up here, everything looks the same
and nothing, is really all that different
We are all hitching a free ride, on a journey to nowhere

It's liberating knowing I am part of a whole
Knowing there is an eternal synergy between souls
No matter where I go, I am never truly alone
I can find that fleeting warmth in the fiercest of colds
its funny the disparity in life's big blue bowl

How to share this feeling, I sense my urgency
Is the truth that simple? That we are without it is a tragedy
Like our home, we move in cycles, following the same fallacies,
stuck in an endless loop, marching to the beat of humanity
How to change a world where hate is lucidity and love is insanity.

I remember thinking "I'll fly around it in my rocket powered jet
You see?  From up here, everything looks the same
and everything is really just that eloquent
We are all hitching a free ride, on a journey to somewhere... here
