Your love for your dog leaps off the page. Perfect rhymes with an excellent cadence. I enjoyed this very much.
I read your bio. I, too, am not trying to change the world. It's far more relaxing to simply enjoy it. (As you appear to be doing with the wig in your avatar.)
Regards. Richard

My own love of poetry comes from the Aussie bush ballardiers who typically told a great yarn with rhyme cadence, then they stick in your brain forever that way. I am kind of a novice, first poem only penned about a year ago, so please don't hold back on any tips. And yes, have fun, you are a long time dead. Cheers mate.
What a wonderful friend you have in Cobber, Keith. He sounds like he's a pure delight to have around. You have painted a wonderful portrait of your faithful pet, and I enjoyed it very much.

Thanks you Joyce, I appreciate you reading through my work. Keith.
Ooooo how utterly gorgeous! I really smiled hugely at this one Keith! So sad that he had a cancer, but ever so pleased he came out of it as he did. He wouldn't miss the tail but he would miss you! Pets are certainly the most precious and love unconditionally!
He sounds such a delight!
Love how you bring the reader right into your world with your words.
Another fine poem from your quill!
Awwww....how sweet this is. He asks for nothing, does not complain, and gives you only love and companionship. Such a special write for your pet! I enjoy your rhyming! Lydi**

That was a few years ago, still wags his stump to greet me every morning.
We are definitely singing from the same hymn sheet here Keith, I'm a doggie man myself so naturally, I enjoyed this immensely !

A nice vignette about a favourite pet. The metre could be improved in places, i.e.
'There's so much he can teach
Concerning life, love and loss.' The last line of V1 - 'Is contented with his lot.'
'So pleased to see me afterwards
He gave a little jump,' - but overall a feel good poem.
I grew up on a diet of Australian bush poetry. Now a business consultant, I spend far too much time on aeroplanes and in hotels, I use this time to write. I like to tell stories and have fun. If y.. more..
