"

This is the first paragraph of my story for my english class. I haven't decide if my going to put the rest on, mainly because I haven't finished it yet. Hope you like it.

"
A silence hung over the court room, like a shrouded cloak. There was a tense aura that filled the room. It hovered in the air like a bad odor. The court room was generally quite a big room too. There was a grand arched doorway, with two varnished mahogany wood doors on one end of the room. This is where I entered. The closing of these doors caused all wandering eyes to fall upon one person. Me. There were rows upon rows of these intense eyes. They seemed endless. I slowly staggered through the marble tile path, with each concentrated pair of eyes following my every step. It was agonizing. I was never one who wanted to be the center of attention and especially not in this situation, but there was one pair of eyes that stood out from the rest. A pair of eyes that filled me with great joy and great sadness. A pair of eyes that said ‘It’s going to be OK daddy’. This pair of eyes belonged to my daughter, Katie. I wanted to break down and cry in front of everyone, but I knew I couldn’t. I couldn’t give her any reason to be scared or feel sad, even though it was how I felt. I had to be strong for her. I continued my walk with my chin held high and a false smile on my face. It seemed to help her. I took my seat in front of the powerful audience. I turned to look at Katie.  A wide grin slowly stretched across her face. It stunned me. She was so beautiful and at that moment I realized how much I loved her. One man’s voice broke through the silence. The one man, whose voice spoke for the people who decided my fate. My existence. My life.
