The Descent

The Descent

A Poem by Keir Mayja

Tranquil thoughts come easy
Wind rushing against my face,
Falling slowly from my perch
Amongst the clouds that once comforted
Wilted wings,
Tattered by impurity,
Feeling my presence change
Pain once unaccustomed to
Now pulsates through my veins,
Burning searing pain,
Tears stream like rivers,
Down my face falling
Before me,
Announcing my descent,
My failure to be the
Perfection I was created for,
Least what they thought I was,
Crashing to unyielding earth,
Shattering every bone
Breaking my spirit,
But still I Breathe,
Chest heaving
Mouth gasping for
Oxygen to fill
My lungs,
Bleeding profusely from within,
Staggering to find
That I too am only human
Sobbing softly in my palms
Remembering when I was
Once her angel,
Her joy

Sounds like her little angel had broken wings. Very powerful and expressive.

That was a very nice prosing on sorrow and pain like that. The writing really did get my attention all the way through to the end. We all go through those kind of the sadness, so you're not alone on this one...

On the other hand, it's all still good tho, so no worries there...
