refractionA Poem by Kees Kapteyn
You're wondering what I mean When I say that you are beautiful I say this to give you this knowledge Affect what I feel upon you Yet it becomes lost in the empty air
I look for lofty concepts in you But you look at me with query in your eyes Light bends and misses its mark
What I am grasping for Is belief All I have is faith
You illuminate meaning in me, So much meaning And this meaning is a picture in my mind Superimposed upon the sight of you I colour you in bright tints and hues, Make you deeper and richer And present this image to you
I try to break this vacuous space between us © 2008 Kees KapteynAuthor's Note
