JupiterA Poem by Kees Kapteyn
In love with you, I'm in the ambit of Jupiter. You dominate my sky. My zenith and my horizon, My lifelong pyramid of you.
I drive in my car to work and Have the illusion of your following me. Like the moon, you're always full, always facing me. You have no darkside for me to speak of.
I'm drawn, as physical laws would have it, To your gravity, your perpetual centrifugal storms. It's part of your beauty; your marbled emotional countenance. It gives you texture and brilliance.
In the kitchen, I wait for you to come, Lean on me, give me weight in my cold empty space. Goddess, you are providence. You bring rain, thunder and lightning before the dawn, You are with the moon, illuminating my night You reflect as much of life as you do light. © 2008 Kees KapteynReviews
