Waltz of a Lunatic

Waltz of a Lunatic

A Poem by Keeley

Welcome to my ballroom floor
I extend my hand to you
I bring you close to me
I take you out of your reality
Taking you into my world
Feel safe yet? The dance is about to begin
I spin you where you stand
Disorientating you
I take away your sight
I let you see only me, but wait
I call forth the spot light to be placed on you
I hide behind you in the shadows
I say, this is your dance now
I watch, and wait for you
You hesitate, but I insist
You must dance, and I must hide
You will dance for me now
And I will show you the moves
There is no freedom in a dance
One must lead, I leave it to you
Show me your moves, but the ones I taught
Show me that you learned from me
Do this and I am yours
Dance and I will follow
This is your show now
I am only the spectator

There is no freedom in a dance. This line is really interesting, I think it really stands out as a bold statement of the sentiments being expressed in the piece. One might argue that dancing is freedom while a person who is, perhaps on the brink, would feel otherwise. Great read.

I did enjoy this. It applies to life in a way. Life is a dance where there is always someone leading someone else.

That's very interesting; I've never read anything else like it! Definitely original, and very, very good. :D
