Don't Be Afraid To Love Again

Don't Be Afraid To Love Again

A Poem by Keeley

It can hurt so much.

It can feel like your heart’s been ripped out,

stepped on, and put in a blender.

You used to know how love felt.

It’s the ending that hurts the most.

You had a crush,

then, it became so much more.

Love was all you thought you’d ever need.

Then, when he ended it,

your world came crashing down on you.

You thought you would never love again.

You felt like love wasn’t Heaven for you,

     it became Hell for you.

You didn’t think you need love.

And then, he walked in the door

and you fell head over heels again,

and you hoped he felt it too.

He poured out his heart and soul to you.

You did the same.

And when it was time to go,

you wondered if you would ever see him again,

and then he whispered in your ear,

“Don’t be afraid to love again.”
