Calamities Will

Calamities Will

A Poem by KeeD

The night is nigh
illuminated by a titian sky
A burning star
blazed the heavens afar

I saw the sky flash for a split second
It brought to life my lonely weekend
And the God's laughed violently
as the rain cried bitterly, then silently

The prophet proclaimed
Don't look up, for here's the end
Where would I look to then?
I had no friends

My dreams enclasped a different scene
a field of wild flowers and an ocean breeze
the sound of laughter flooded my mind
just a few more memories I had left behind

And the world exploded in hues of red
the soil beneath my feet hurled over my head
I endured every sort of pain yet I felt nothing still
The lights turned off, for it's calamities will

This relates to the recent tornadoes we had here in the midwest a week or so ago.
the gods were a bit unhappy...maybe they were warring and that is what resulted in the high, damaging winds...
Perhaps that is how the armageddon will happen.....
fire and wind...
explosions in hues of red.
And maybe after all the pain of life, death will be so quick we won't get to feel it.
great read, KeeD...
related in my own way, I know....but your writing allows for that.

and that is so important in poetry.
